N-acetate, also known as "n-propyl acetate" and "propyl acetate", naturally occurs in strawberries, bananas and tomatoes. The product obtained by esterification of acetic acid and 1-propanol has the typical properties of an ester. It is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature. It is miscible with ethanol and ether and has a special fruit flavor.
